PIAF-Founders Alliance wins all LCCI Corporate Class seats

Maintaining its track record, the PIAF-Founders Alliance (Pakistan Industrial and Traders Associations Front) Monday made a clean sweep by winning all eight seats of the Lahore Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI) Corporate Class election for year 2015-16.

The PIAF-Founders Alliance candidate Almas Haider got 779 votes, Amjad Ali Jawa 788, Mian Rehman Aziz Chan 756, Tanvir Ahmed 781, Sheikh Ibrahim 755, Muhammad Adnan Khalid Butt 749, Mian Abdul Razzaq 728, Shahzad Ayub 703 votes.

While the Progressive and Lahore Business Front Alliance (PLBFA) candidates Khalid Usman got 344 votes, Tahir Malik 306, Irshad Chaudhry 319, Chaudhary Ali Akbar 299, Mansoor Dilawar 337, Nawaz 278, Naeem Anwar 289 and Tariq Siddiq got 261 votes.

Mian Muzaffar Ali, Shahzad Azam Khan, and Haroon Shafiq Chaudhry were the elections commissioners.

The election turnout recorded an increase, as this year, 1,096 out of 2,631 voters exercised their franchise right against the last year’s turnout of 1,068 out of 2,386 voters. The LCCI election 2015-16 result also showed that increased turnout was tilted towards the PIAF-Founders Alliance.

In the second phase, polling for seven seats of Associate Class will be held tomorrow (Tuesday) in which 7800 voters will use their right of vote.

As per standard practice, the final results of the elections will be announced in Annual General Meeting scheduled for September 30.
