Pakistan Peoples’ Party (PPP) spokesman, Senator Farhatullah Babar has denied any party meeting held in Dubai.
In a statement, Babar said some party leaders called on Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari and Co-chairman Asif Ali Zardari in Dubai, which has been named as a ‘meeting’.
According to reports, Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari and Co-chairman Asif Ali Zardari jointly chaired a high-level consultative meeting held in Dubai on Saturday.
In the meeting, the party threatened to launch a robust public agitation if the federal government continues with its “campaign of retribution and vengeance’ against it, its leaders and the Sindh government”.
Leader of the Opposition in the National Assembly Khursheed Ahmed Shah briefed the meeting on the current political situation of the country.
Yousuf Raza Gilani, Raja Pervaiz Ashraf, Sherry Rehman, Syed Khursheed Shah, Nayyar Hussain Bukhari, Faryal Talpur, Aitzaz Ahsan, Qamar Zaman Kaira, Rehman Malik, Mian Manzoor Wattoo, Naveed Qamar, Syed Akhunzada Chattan, and others attended the meeting.
