The Pakistan Electronic Media Regulatory Authority (PEMRA) has directed TV channels to stop running an ‘objectionable advisement’.
While taking notice of the increase of public complaints against the telecast of a contraceptive ad on Pakistani channels, PEMRA has directed TV channels and the Pakistan Broadcasters Association to review the advertisement, according to a press release issued on Monday.
“It is pointed out that the advertisement is generally being perceived as indecent, immoral and in sheer disregard to our socio-cultural and religious norms,” PEMRA said.
