Funds increased to Rs 60m for self employment of students

Provincial Minister for Zakat and Usher Malik Nadeem Kamran said while talking to media on Sunday that the amount allocated under Self-Employment Scheme for the permanent rehabilitation of deserving students had been increased from Rs 41 million to Rs 60 million.

He said that the process of distribution of sewing machines among widows and destitute women was also being started and a sum of Rs. 20 million has been allocated for this purpose, he added.

The minister said the government was implementing a comprehensive programme for permanent rehabilitation of deserving and destitute people. He said that financial assistance of Rs 50,000 to 200,000 would be given on non-returnable basis to deserving male and female students completing technical training from Punjab vocational training institutes under Self-Employment Scheme so that they could purchase necessary equipment and start their business for supporting their families.
