Lahore High Court (LHC) on Monday declared petition filed against imposition of surcharge over electricity bills as admissible.
During the hearing, petitioner’s counsel Azhar Siddique told the court that government has imposed Gas Infrastructure Development Cess (GIDC) on electricity bills, which is illegal. He urged the court to annul this decision so that the people can get some relief.
Subsequently, the court has summoned reply from federation, government, National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (Nepra) and ministry of water and power till September 28.
