Pakistan and India are working on plans for meeting between the Director Generals (DGs) of Pakistan Rangers and Indian Border Security Forces.
Previously, attempts had been made to hold talks – including the anticipated meeting between National Security Advisors (NSA) of the two countries- which were, however cancelled by India.
DG BSF, Davendra Kumar Pathak has said “talks are in planning process”.
Local media has reported that the talks have now been set for 9th – 13th September, 2015 in New Delhi. The two sides – represented by DG Pakistan Rangers and DG BSF – will discuss border issues and the situation at Line of Control (LoC).
These will be the first DG-Level talks between the two countries since 2013.
