The Sindh High Court (SHC) on Wednesday directed the special branch to submit details that how many key figures were being provided police security.

The SHC bench, while hearing Nabeel Gabool’s petition seeking Rangers security, directed the special branch of Sindh police to submit details and tell the court that how many people were enjoying security. The court directed them to submit a report within two weeks.

Former Member National Assembly (MNA) Nabeel Gabbol had filed a petition in the Sindh High Court (SHC) seeking Rangers security on the plea that he was facing life threats.

Gabool named interior ministry, IG Sindh police and others as respondents. He filed a petition through his lawyer Javed Mir and pleaded the court that he was elected as Pakistan Peoples’ Party MNA for several times. He said he left the party (PPP) but received no threats, however, this time he resigning as MQM’s legislator and started receiving life threats.

The petitioner pleaded the court that he was attacked several times before and now the provincial government had withdrawn his police security. After withdrawal of the security, the concerns over his life have been increased even more. He requested the court to give him Rangers’ security.
