A 30-year-old man was killed in Buttal sector along the Line of Control (LoC) as Indian Border Security Force resorted to “unprovoked firing” once again on Saturday evening.

“A civilian, Muhammad Akhtar son of Afzal, resident of village Dhur Bazari, was killed due to Indian unprovoked firing along LoC in Buttal sector,” Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said in a statement.

Akhtar was shot by Indian troops when he was collecting sand from Poonch River, the statement added.

Earlier this month, Indian security forces killed a 70-year-old woman in Nakial sector.

According to a statement from ISPR statement, Indian troops yet again resorted to unprovoked firing in Nikial Sector in district Kotli on Wednesday, killing 70-year-old Nooran Begum, wife Lal Muhammad.

According to the military’s media wing, India has been continuously violating the ceasefire agreement along the LoC and the Working Boundary in Sialkot. So far, as many as 10 people have been killed in over 100 ceasefire violations by Indian forces since July.
