Intelligence agencies have arrested seven terrorists from near the residence of Punjab Law Minister Rana Sanaullah in Faisalabad of whom two are reportedly affiliated with the banned Lashkar-e-Jhangvi and are involved in the suicide attack on Punjab home minister Shuja Khanzada.
A police spokesman said that the suspected terrorists were residing four houses away from Rana Sana’s residence and were picked up by intelligence personnel after their activities were monitored for three days.
“Five terrorists belong to Khyber Pakhtunkhwa whereas two were residents of Faisalabad. One of the two men from Faisalabad, Shoaib Cheema is an active member of a defunct outfit and his name is also included in forth schedule,” he said, adding that the two suspects had been shifted to Lahore for further interrogation.
The spokesman claimed that the terrorists revealed that they had facilitated the suicide attackers who targeted Shuja Khanzada in Attock on Sunday. “The accused also pointed out that Lakhkar-e-Jhangvi deputy chief for Punjab, Nadeem Inqilabi had masterminded the attack on Khanzada,” he concluded.
