PDWP has big plans for KP

The Provincial Development Working Party (PDWP) held its meeting under the Chairmanship of Dr. Hammad Owais Agha the Additional Chief Secretary Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on Tuesday.

The meeting was attended by its members, including Secretary P&DD Syed Zafar Ali Shah and respective administrative Secretaries. The forum considered 40 projects pertaining to industries, health, irrigation, elementary & secondary education, higher education, sports & tourism, communications & works, public health engineering, local government and social welfare departments to help better the province. The forum approved 35 projects with an estimated cost of Rs 71264.331 million. Five projects were deferred due to inadequate project designs.

In the Industries sector approved projects were “Establishment of Small Industrial Estate at Dargai Malakand” and “Rehabilitation of Existing SIDB Small Industrial Estates (D.I.Khan, Bannu, Kohat and Mansehra)”.

The only project approved in the Water Sector was “Construction of Sanam Dam Project, District Dir Lower”.

In the Elementary & Secondary Education Sector 10 projects were approved which included “Establishment of 100 Girls Primary Schools in KPK”, “Establishment of 50 Boys Primary Schools in KPK”, “IT/Computer science teachers and computer labs project in KP Phase-III”, “Establishment of 70 Girls Secondary schools in KPK”, “Up-gradation of 30 Boys High Schools to Higher Secondary Level”, “Up-gradation of 50 Girls Middle Schools to Higher Secondary Level”, “Up-gradation of 50 Girls High Schools to Higher Secondary Level”, “Establishment of 500 I.T. Laboratories in Govt. High & Higher Secondary Schools in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa”, “Up-gradation of 20 Boys Middle Schools to High Level in KPK” and “Establishment of 30 Boys Secondary Schools in KPK”.

In the Higher Education “Establishment of Public Library at Mansehra”, “Establishment of Public Library at Charsadda”, “Establishment of GGDC at Gujrat Pk-30 District Mardan” projects were approved.

The only project approved in the Sports Sector was “Acquisition of land for safeguarding and development of 11 archaeological sites in Swat”.

In the Roads Sector  5 projects were approved and included “Feasibiity Study, Design and Rehabilitation of roads (a) Martung to Dedal (b) Shikolai to Anwar (03 km) (c) Anwarai to Kandona (02 km) & (d) Fiza to Alagram (02 km) District Shangla (12 kms)”, “F/S, Design & BT of roads (a) Nakka Galli Kuthiala to Mubaraka (b) Chatri to Sher Bai Mangal Bridge viz Bandi Matrach (c) Gramry including Siyal Sargal UC Pawa, District Abbottabad”, “F/S, Design & Construction/BT of 3 km road from Main road to Ningulay, River Swat (Khurshid Khan) Memorial road, Swat”, “Concept paper of Swat Motorway from Karnal Sher Khan Interchange on Motorway M-1 to Chakdara National Highway N-45” and “Construction/improvement/rehabilitation of various roads in District Abbottabad Pk- 48”.
