No arrest for former PEMRA chief, IHC orders FIA

The Islamabad High Court (IHC) during the hearing of a case against former PEMRA chairman Chaudhry Abdul Rashid directed that no action be taken against him, nor should he be arrested, till further notice.

Justice Noorul Haq Qureshi of the IHC heard the case on Tuesday and asked the FIA director general to personally appear at the next hearing on August 25.

During the hearing the counsel, for Ch Abdul Rashid said that his client was restored three times by the court but the government continued to accuse him of illegal recruitments. He said the FIR registered against the former PEMRA chairman was illegal.

At this, the court ordered that no arrest be made and adjourned the hearing.
