In a research carried out by London & Partners, the city’s official promotional company, it was revealed that three of London’s museums make up the most searched-for museums across the globe. With the Science Museum topping the list, the Natural History Museum took the second position followed by the British Museum.
Meanwhile, the New York Metropolitan Museum of Art and the Smithsonian Museum in Washington DC claimed secured the fourth and fifth place.
London mayor Boris Johnson said, ”London is without a doubt the cultural capital of the world.”
“Tourists are flocking to our great city in ever-increasing numbers, drawn by our exceptional cultural attractions and landmarks,” he added.
Recently, London was ranked as third most expensive city in the world. Expatistan, which used crowd-funding data to compare the cost of living between cities around the world, claims that after Grand Cayman in the Cayman Islands, Zurich is the second most expensive city in the world whereas London is ranked third on the list.
