PTI drafts new constitution for the party

The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has prepared a new draft constitution for the party and has recommended removing the post of president of the party, Geo News reported on Thursday.

According to the channel, the draft of the constitution states that a new national organisation be formed and should include the central executive committee, core committee and overseas body.

According to the new draft, members will be elected to the 40-member core committee and the 24 member central executive committee, while the chairman will be elected by 16 members. All posts in the party will have a tenure of two years. According to the channel, the new constitution also plans on establishing a national level election commission for the party.

It said that the draft of the new constitution has been sent to PTI members of the parliament and other party officials and will be finalized in light of their recommendations.
