Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Pervez Khattak says he is being wrongly implicated in corruption case as he has nothing to do with illegal mining.

Speaking to Geo News, he said:” I have no idea why am I being implicated, I never asked any secretary for any wrongdoing”

He said he never met minister for mines and minerals Ziaullah Afridi except for official meeting, and many a time issued show cause notice over illegal mining.

The chief minister said he also ordered Deputy Commissioner Nowshere to carry raids. Ziaullah Afridi is currently behind the bars on corruption charges.

According to a report published in a local newspaper, in a letter to the federal secretary establishment, Secretary Mian Waheed Uddin, who was relieved on July 14, has accused Chief Minister Khattak of harassing him for not accommodating the corrupt officials, refusing to oblige companies involved in illegal mining and inquiry against cement factories that under-reported the extraction of raw minerals causing loss of Rs 1.6 billion to the government.
