The Rawalpindi district administration has devised a security plan for Chand Raat and Eid.
An official said that under the security plan, about 5,500 police personnel including commandos will be deployed outside mosques, imambargahs and other places to provide security to the masses. CCTV cameras will also be installed at important locations and mosques and other places of worship.
The official said that an additional force would be deployed at Moti Bazaar on Chaand Raat. Law enforcement agencies will remain on red alert during Eid, the official said adding that extra police personnel have already been deployed at key markets including Moti Bazaar, Commercial Market, Bara Bazaar, Kashmiri Bazaar, Raja Bazaar, Bank Road and Sadiqabad.
