Inter-provincial gang of dacoits busted

The Special Investigation Unit (SIU) on Monday busted a gang of dacoits including Afghan nationals who earlier managed to escape on July 6, after a police encounter in the Tarnol police area, a police spokesman said.

According to details, senior police officials assigned the task to SP (Investigation) Muhammad Ilyas to arrest those criminals managed to escape on July 6, 2015 after police encounter in `Sarai Madhoo’ area of Tarnol police station. Following these directions, a special team including DSP CIA Bashir Ahmed Noon, Sub-Inspector Tariq Rauf, Assistant Sub-Inspector Zulfiqar Ali and others was constituted which traced the dacoits’ gang and succeed to arrest five gangsters.

Police also recovered weapons, ammunition, one motorbike and snatched cash Rs 3,00,000 from them.

Their other accomplices were arrested by police on July 6, when they were present in the Tarnol area to loot a money changer’s van. Police also recovered weapons, one truck and looted amount worth Rs 1.5 million.

The gangsters have been identified as Jamal ud din s/o Kalam- ud-din resident of Distraict Attock, Fazl Malik s/o Faqeer Badsha resident of Noshawara, Amjad khan s/o khan badsha resident of District Nowshra, Akmal khan  s/o Faqeer Khan resident of district Charasda,Suleman Shah s/o Ameer Qadir resident of Distraict Sawabi, Haris Khan s/o Afsar khan resident of district Sawabi, Muhammad Ayaz  s/o Jan Muhammad resident of district Mardan and Syed Hussain s/o Haji Nabi resident of Khyber agency.

They have been identified as Agha alias Badi, Shabran, Sikandar Khan residents of Afghanistan and Aman Nur alias Dama resident of Malakand Agency, and Abdu Majeed alias Sheena resident of Bajur agency.

They confessed their involvement in 13 incidents of dacoity in Peshawar, Swat, Bahaawalpur and the twin cities of Rawalpindi and Islamabad.  In Islamabad, they committed dacoities in Golra, Tarnol, IJP road, sector E-7 and Tarlai.
