SHO granted bail in student’s murder case

The Additional district and sessions judge Faisalabad has accepted a bail plea by the SHO in the murder case of Farhan, a 10th grader, after out of court settlement papers were presented in court.

Peoples’ Colony SHO Faryad Hussain Cheema and other police men had shot dead Farhan and critically injured his friend Fahd while they were playing with a toy gun a few days back.

Under the directives of the Punjab chief minister and the inquiry report stated the police killed the student in a fake encounter.

Sources said that the police high-ups and political leaders pressured Farhan’s family to strike a deal with the SHO. Sheikh Muhammad Ali, the father of victim, first presented papers in the court of the local magistrate, who referred the matter to the district and sessions judge.

Police said that the court that Cheema was not involved in the case directly and instead Khurram, who was a trainee SHO, had opened fire on Farhan and his friend. The police told the court that Khurram will be arrested and a challan will be presented in the court.
