LAHORE
Lahore High Court (LHC) will take up Ayyan’s bail plea on Thursday (today), as her application was previously dismissed by an LHC single bench.
The LHC had previously rejected Ayyan’s petition, claiming that under Section 497 of the Criminal Code of Procedure, a bail application could not be filed for a second time.
Ayyan’s council said that her bail application could be heard by a dvision bench of the LHC, as previously it had been entertained by a single bench.
Justice Khan took up the petition as an “objection case” and allowed Advocate Sardar Khurram Latif Khosa to argue on the model’s behalf.
He also directed the registrar’s office to fix the case before an appropriate division bench.
Ayyan has been accused of money laundering, and has been in prison since her arrest from Benazir International Airport, Islamabad, on March 14.
