LAHORE
Three people were killed and four injured in a shooting on Thursday, when a man opened fire inside the branch of a local bank in Lahore’s Iqbal Town.
Superintendent of Police (SP) Iqbal Town Muhammad Iqbal told a local media outlet that an operation manager, a staff member and a security guard at the bank were killed in the shooting.
Capital City Police Officer (CCPO) Lahore Amin Wains told journalists that the shooting could have been a personal dispute or grudge. He further added that the assailant rushed to the operations manager and shot him dead.
A guard of a nearby bank chased him after he fled the building, according to Amin.
The CCPO said that the attacker was also wounded during the pursuit. The assailant was handed over to the police.
The alleged culprit was later identified as Abdullah, a cashier at the Government Science College, Lahore.
