Taking Sindh government into confidence, the federal government has sought resignation from Sindh Governor Dr Ishratul Ebad Khan, sources said Thursday, adding that high level consultations have begun for the appointment of a new governor.

According to a private TV channel, the government believes that after the surfacing of allegations by executed convict Saulat Mirza, it was “unsuitable” for Dr Ebad to remain the governor.

Dr Ebad has asked for a month to resign from his position, sources added. Dr Ebad has said that he is currently occupied with some private engagements and after the completion of some leftover responsibilities, he will resign.
