DSP office inferno, protests held due to Daska killings

SIALKOT/ GUJRANWALA:

At least two lawyers were killed and one was injured during a clash with police here on Monday, prompting protests by the legal fraternity across Punjab, according to local media sources.

The clash took place in Daska tehsil of Sialkot district in Punjab.

The victims included Rana Khalid Abbas, president of the Daska Bar Association (DBA).

Enraged lawyers took to the streets and set the office of Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) on fire in Daska. A tractor trolley was also set on fire by demonstrators.

They blocked the road leading to Civil Hospital and changed slogans against the police, reportedly.

Police fired teargas shells to disperse the advancing lawyers, turning the area into a battleground, authorities stated.
