A decision has been taken to set up 10 cheap Bazaars in the Rawalpindi city and the cantonment area during the month of Ramzan to provide essential commodities and vegetables at subsidised rates to the people.
These bazaars will be set up till June 10 and applications for allotment of stalls will be invited in the last week of May.
The assistant commissioner will be entrusted the responsibility for monitoring the activities in these bazaars. The essential commodities will be available in these bazaars at the prices lower than market rates by 10 to 15 per cent.
These bazaars will be set up in the areas of Haidri chowk, Khayban-e- Sirsyed, Shams Abad, Committee chowk, Dhok Hussoo, Pir Wadhai, Chungi No 22, Chohar Chowk, Gulzar-e- Qaid, Adiala, Said Pur road and Sadiqabad. The DCO is going to convene a meeting to evolve methodology for allotment of stalls, reduction in the prices of essential commodities and date for completion of these bazaars.
