Chief of Naval Staff (CNS) Admiral Zakaullah on Wednesday stressed the need to remain cognizant of the developing situation in Yemen and continue maintaining highest degree of readiness.
“Chief of the Naval Staff highly appreciated the unflinching commitment and professional competence demonstrated by Pakistan Navy Fleet Units during Operation “LABAIK” for safe and successful evacuation of large number of Pakistani and Foreign Nationals stranded in Yemen. He exhorted upon all to remain cognizant of the developing situation and continue maintaining highest degree of readiness,” a press release said.
Admiral Zakaullah was addressing Pakistan Navy’s Command and Staff Conference, which concluded at Naval Headquarters Islamabad on Wednesday. The conference; chaired by chief of the naval staff was primarily aimed at reviewing Operational Preparedness and Developmental Plans of Pakistan navy.
Chief of the naval staff was given detailed briefings on various developmental projects from the Pakistan navy.
While taking a comprehensive review of the prevailing maritime environment in the region, the priorities and the ongoing projects, the participants of the conference also discussed Pakistan navy’s humanitarian assistance provided during ongoing Yemen crisis.
While taking stock of the prevalent security environment, the naval chief expressed satisfaction over the operational readiness of Pakistan navy in the face of prevalent maritime challenges. He urged upon all for judicious utilisation of resources provided for maritime defence with greater responsibility, meticulous planning and flawless execution. The naval chief also appreciated the active role played by PN Hydrography department in getting the Continental Shelf Case approved at UNO.
Command and staff conference is held every quarter and is the apex decision making body of Pakistan navy in which all principal staff officers and field commanders undertake strategic review of Pakistan navy’s policies and plans.
