Sri Lankan President Maithripala Sirisena will arrive for the first time to Pakistan on a three-day state visit on April 5.
Maithripapa was invited by President Mamnoon Hussain and Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif.
Foreign Office spokesperson Tasnim Aslam said Prime Minister Nawaz will hold talks with the Sri Lankan president.
A number of memoranda of understanding and agreements of cooperation in various fields would be signed between the two countries.
National Assembly Speaker Ayaz Sadiq among other state functionaries would also meet Sirisena.
Pakistan and Sri Lanka enjoy friendly and cordial ties. Diplomatic relations between the two countries were established in 1948.
Being members of South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation (SAARC) and the Commonwealth, Pakistan and Sri Lanka cooperate closely and coordinate with each other on issues of mutual interest.
