Rawalpindi health authorities have made comprehensive arrangements for the five day anti polio immunisation campaign beginning on Tuesday.

More than two thousand teams have been formed for the vaccination of seven and a half lakh children.  These include 1697 mobile teams, 268 fixed centres and 111 transit camps.

Health officials said that the teams would administer anti polio drops to children upto five years of age at hospitals, rural and basic health centres, bus stops, important highways and railway stations.

The authorities will particularly focus on 27 union councils which have been declared sensitive and where majority of people from Khyber Pakhtoonkhwa, who have come for jobs are living.

The immunisation campaign was to begin on 14th March but deferred as the police was busy in security arrangements for 23rd March Pakistan Day armed services parade.

To make the immunisation campaign a success, special teams of district officials and medical officers have been made which would make surprised checking about the working of the teams.
