The Lahore High Court (LHC) on Wednesday summoned city police officer (CPO) and Faisalabad district coordination officer (DCO) on March 20 on the plea filed against house detention of Tehreek-e-Minhaj-ul-Quran leader Afzal Rizvi.
During the hearing, Kubra Rizvi, on the behalf of lawyer Ishtiaq Chaudhry, apprised the court that Afzal Rizvi was detained on the orders of Faisalabad police while the government had also awarded him with a prize over his peace services.
After the arguments of petitioner, judge regretted over the government’s decision of Rizvi’s house arrest.
The court adjourned the hearing by asking CCPO and DCO to appear on March 20
