Terrorist attack on Rangers check-post injures five

At least five Rangers’ officials sustained injuries in terrorist attack on Basar Rangers’ checkpost in Chilas on Sunday.

According to reports, over two dozen militants mounted an assault on a paramilitary checkpost. The sources said that at least 30 militants attacked a Pakistan Rangers position in Bhashah area located between Diamir and Kohistan.

The injured officials were moved to Combined Military Hospital Rawalpindi for treatment. The sources added that all the militants managed to flee.

Security forces cordoned off the area after the attack whereas a search operation is underway to nab the terrorists.

No terrorist group has yet claimed responsibility of the attack.

TWO KILLED IN QUETTA FIRING:

Meanwhile in Quetta, unidentified miscreants gunned down two people on Sunday and escaped the scene.

Sariab SP Zahoor Afridi said that the firing incident took place in Satellite area of Quetta where unidentified armed men riding motorcycle, sprayed bullets at two people.

As a result of firing both persons died on the spot while the assailants fled the scene after committing the dual murder.

The bodies were shifted to hospital for medico-legal formalities while a protest demonstration was also held against the target killing.
