PML-N and Pakistan energy plan

The PML-N government of Nawaz Sharif had announced to fix the Pakistan energy problems during its tenure. They had said that they would not only reduce the energy deficit, but will also help reduce the cost of Energy by working on low cost energy projects.

After more than one year, the country is still facing acute energy shortfalls, while line losses have increased exponentially. Now the current Government has allowed the construction of solar power plants, which has the highest cost per unit energy.

Why is the PML-N government deviating from their set goals? Why are they increasing the cost of Energy in Pakistan by installing and agreeing to buy the energy at even higher rates than the current furnace oil producers? Why have PML-N failed to reduce or stop line losses, especially considering that no one can steal electricity without the knowledge of the local line man.

I think the PML-N government needs to explain these deviations from their set plan. Otherwise it is obvious from the current work that the PML-N will not only increase the cost of energy for local Pakistanis, but their slow work will also increase line losses across Pakistan and bring the energy supply companies to the brink of bankruptcy
