The federal government has decided in principle to implement Nizam-e-Salat system in the federal capital Islamabad.

A decision to this effect was taken during a meeting chaired by the federal minister of religious affairs.

Under the system, Azaan (call for prayer) timings will be fixed while Salat (prayers) would be also offered at one particular time throughout the capital.

A final decision in this regard would be taken by the Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif after his return from Saudi Arabia.

The federal government is also likely to request four provincial governments to introduce uniform Nizam-e-Salat system in their respective provinces.
