The Election Commission of Pakistan on Wednesday issued a schedule for delimitation of Union Councils and wards in local government institutions within the Punjab province.
The Commission has issued the schedule in exercise of powers conferred upon it by section 3A of the Delimitation of Constituencies Act 1974 read with sub-section (2) of section (8) of the Punjab Local Government Act 2013.
According to the schedule, the preparation of preliminary list of constituencies by the delimitation officers shall be carried out from March 16 to May 14, and the publication of the preliminary list of constituencies for inviting representation and objections will be made between May 15 to May 25.
The dates for filing of representation and objections before the delimitation authority have been set for May 26 to June 15, while the disposal of representation and objections shall be made during June 16 to July 6.
The last date for communication of decisions made by the delimitation authorities to the delimitation officers will be July 15, and the final notification of the delimitation of constituencies by delimitation officers shall be issued on July 28, 2015.
