Three alleged accused were killed and one police constable injured in a police encounter at Lyari on Saturday.
Police conducted an encounter in which three dacoits of Lyari gangwar (Sheraz Comrade Group) were killed by police in jurisdiction of Kalri police station near Daryabad while in exchange of firing one police constable was injured.
SSP City Fida Hussain Janwari said the dacoits were involved in several robberies, rape cases, and extortion from traders, while police recovered weapons from their possession. The injured police constable and bodies were shifted to hospital.
THREE KILLED, TWO INJURED IN ROAD MISHAPS
Three persons were killed and two others seriously injured in separate road mishaps on Saturday.
A man, Sardar, 45, was killed in road mishap when a speedy vehicle hit him near Rexer Bridge. The body was brought to Civil Hospital Karachi (CHK) for medico-legal formalities.
In another incident, unidentified person, aged about 45, was killed when he a train overran him near Ghaghar railway crossing. The body was shifted to Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Center for an autopsy.
Yet in another incident, an unknown man, aged about 60, was killed in road mishap near Saeedabad police training center. The body was shifted to CHK for an autopsy. Separately, two youths, Junaid, 25 and Saleem, 22, were seriously injured when an unknown vehicle hit them near Native Jetty Bridge. Both were brought to CHK for treatment.
Meanwhile, a strangulated body was found from the area of Suhrab Goth here on Saturday. A man, Kifalat, 30, resident of Abbas Town, was found strangulated to death from Abbas Town area in Suhrab Goth. The body was shifted to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital for an autopsy.
