Bollywood actor Sonam Kapoor has tested positive for swine flu, India Today reported on Saturday. She was admitted to a hospital in Rajkot after she complained of sore throat and high fever.

The actor was shooting for Prem Ratan Dhan Payo, which also stars Salman Khan, when she fell ill. “Sonam Kapoor tested positive for swine flu today [Friday] and she is being treated at Sterling hospital in the city,” Rajkot district collector Manisha Chandra said.

“She probably contracted swine flu from her physical trainer in Mumbai and by the time she came here she was already suffering from the symptoms,” added Chandra.

The actress reportedly had mild fever and cold when she arrived in Rajkot from Mumbai.

Dr Chirag Matravadiya, who is treating the actress, said she has been kept in isolation.

Sonam’s mother Sunita arrived in Rajkot on Friday and she was likely to fly her daughter back to Mumbai, said a source close to the actress.

Medical Director of Sterling Hospital Dr Kamal Parikh also confirmed with PTI that Sonam was hospitalised after she complained of cough, respiratory problems and mild fever.

She was admitted to Kokilaben Ambani hospital in Mumbai last month after contacting a respiratory infection.

Sonam, who is the daughter of actor and producer Anil Kapoor, is known for her roles in Delhi-6, Bhaag Milkha Bhaag and Doli Ki Doli.
