While Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif was busy brokering reconciliation between Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) and Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) on Friday during a high-level meeting at the Governor’s House, the parents of slain Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) Arshad Tanoli stood outside to appeal to the premier for justice.

The parents demanded justice from the Sindh government and police, asking why their son who served the nation for 19 years, was murdered in November last year and who would provide support to the displaced children of Tanoli.

Similarly, another woman from Lyari, reached the Governor’s House to demand justice for four of her slain family members, including her husband, father and brother. She protested that owing to the continued unrest in Karachi, several police officials have also been killed besides citizens. She said that even with the targeted operation, it seemed there was no end to the bloodshed and no one to challenge the killers.
