Police arrest 16 lawbreakers, including four gamblers

The police has been cracking down on anti-social elements of late and has arrested 16 lawbreakers, including four gamblers. 1565 grams of narcotics, 22 litres of wine, three pistols, 30 bags with 35 rounds, and a stolen motorcycle were recovered as well.

According to the Rawalpindi police spokesperson, Sadiqabad police held Umar for the possession of 525 grams of narcotics, while Saad was booked with 1040 grams of the same. Pirwadhai police netted Ahmed and recovered five litres of wine while Asghar was put behind bars for possessing five litres of wine. The police from Waris Khan also recovered five litres of wine from Ahsan. The Sadiqabad police nabbed Amir for having three litres of wine. Another accused, called Rab Nawaz, was arrested after the recovery of four litres of wine. The New Town police rounded up Abdul Jabbar and Tasib and recovered a stolen motorcycle from their possession.

Other accused were apprehended as police seized illegal weapons.

Meanwhile, the Rattaamral police, acting on a tip-off, conducted a raid and netted four persons namely Khurram, Sohail, Abdul Jalil and Pervaiz, who were allegedly involved in gambling. The police recovered Rs. 10,680 stake money, four mobile phones and other items from the group.
