Home minister believes crime rate has reduced post-implementation of NAP

The National Action Plan (NAP) is being implemented while action is being taken against proclaimed offenders and the criminals included in schedule IV due to which the rate of crime has substantially reduced, said Punjab Minister for Home Colonel (r) Shuja Khanzada while talking to journalists at the Civil Secretariat on Wednesday. The Minister said that police and agencies are continuing operation against terrorists and their facilitators by acting on secret information and tip-offs and important successes have been achieved. He said that government, police and law enforcement agencies are taking action against terrorists at a large scale and zero tolerance policy is being followed in this regard.

The provincial minister said that sentences for various crimes have been increased through amendments in laws while some crimes have also been declared un-bailable. He said that police and law enforcement agencies are making all out efforts for the maintenance of law and order in the province which is commendable.
