Hundreds of supplementary examination students remained in disarray as University of Karachi (KU) Examination Department failed to announce the result before admission this year.
This year supplementary exams were held after seven years. KU Controller Examination Arshad Azmi had earlier said that the process of results would be expedited to facilitate students and save one year of the students.
However, the students of graduation (Arts, Science and Commerce) were still waiting for the results when the dates of National Testing System (NTS) test of different departments were announced and passed by.
Sources from the examination department said that due to the workload, the examination department failed to give timely results.
Arshad Azmi said that students who took supplementary exams could apply for admission without the results. However, this was not formally announced by the university.
Toqir Sabir, who has been waiting for the supplementary exam result said, “Whenever I contacted the university to enquire if the result was out, they replied in the negative without any further information. Had I known that I would lose one year in any case, I would have chosen to appear for the annual rather than supplementary exam.”
