Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam Fazl (JUI-F) chief Fazlur Rehman on Thursday condemned the terrorist attack on the Army Public School and said his party does not consider it as Jihad.
“We do not consider atrocities like the Peshawar attack as part of jihad,” he said.
Speaking to reporters, the JUI-F leader said that “when a patient does not get well through medicine, then the only option left is an operation”.
“The terrorists themselves have shut the doors for negotiation,” he said.
Rehman said that the atrocity in Peshawar was a blot on the name of Islam and an attempt to deface it. He also said that Pakistan and Afghanistan should form a joint strategy to fight and defeat terrorism.
When speaking of the death penalty, the JUI-F leader said that it was the law of the land and was not being reinstated only due to the Peshawar attack.
