At least one child died while three others sustained injuries in a gas explosion in a house situated at Sanghar Town in Rawalpindi on Tuesday.
According to details, the blast took place due to gas leakage on third floor of a house located at Khokar Road in Sanghar Town and partially damaged the upper storey of the house.
One man and woman were among those injured whereas one child has also lost his life. The injured have been shifted to burn unit of PIMS hospital. Rescue teams reached the spot and doused the blaze.
According to sources, compressor explosion has been recorded as a cause of blast. People used compressor in their houses due to gas load-shedding which is very dangerous and illegal as well.
Moreover, during the past one month, various people have lost their lives in dozens of incidents which took place due to gas leakage.
Earlier, at least one person died while four others sustained injuries in a blast which took place due to cylinder explosion in PWD, Rawalpindi on Monday.
According to details, gas cylinder explosion took place on third floor in PWD area. Glasses of flat shattered due to the blast whereas rest of the building and shops remain protected.
Reportedly, one man died on the spot while injured persons have been shifted to hospital for medication.
