Sindh Inspector General of Police Ghulam Hyder Jamali said on Friday that all the prohibitions imposed by the Sindh government including loud speaker act should be ensured in Muharram.
He said this while taking notice of the news published in a newspaper regarding suspected provocative speech made in a mosque in zone south and demanded comprehensive inquiry report comprising all necessary measures from Additional IG Special Branch and additional IG Karachi.
Jamali said the possible heartbreaking wall chalking, distribution of pamphlets, banners, flyers, sale of audio and video cassettes and CDs comprising sectarian and provocative material should be barred strongly and special tasks should be given to special branch, police stations and intelligence officers to take action against the people involved in spreading sectarianism.
He said the role of Ulema and social, political and religious leaders should be made effective at police station level in order to secure the lives and properties of citizens and control law and order situation.
The IG further directed to make the security of mosques, imambargahs, important government and non-government buildings, public places and processions effective and strong.
