*JI chief demands rehabilitation of displaced Bugti tribesmen, implementation of Balochistan Package

Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) chief Sirajul Haq said Saturday that injustice leads to the division of a country and reiterated that talks, not force, can resolve the issue of Balochistan as he called upon all political parties to rise above political interests for the welfare of the people of Balochistan.

Talking to reporters after meeting Jamhoori Watan Party (JWP) leader Talal Bugti, Haq referred to the causes of division of Pakistan in 1971 and said that efforts should be made to fulfill the promises made to the people of Balochistan.

“Bugti is a patriot who believes in the Constitution of Pakistan,” said Haq as he called for the rehabilitation of displaced Bugti tribesmen in their native area and fulfilment of all the promises made to the people of Balochistan in the name of Aghaz-e-Haqooq-e-Balochistan Package.

“Instead of pushing them against the wall, bring them close to the heart,” the JI leader advised.

Speaking at the occasion, Bugti said, “Iran, Afghanistan, India, NATO and the European Union (EU) are after Pakistan. All retired generals and political forces should look into the matters.”

“The situation in Balochistan will not improve till the current artificial leadership in Balochistan is replaced with real leadership,” he said.

Earlier, speaking at a gathering of a welfare body in Quetta, the JI chief said that the politics has become a source of personal enrichment in Pakistan.

“After assuming power, political parties – which run with the help of donations from capitalists and landlords – adjust their policies to benefit their financers,” he alleged.

He said that rulers over the years kept the people in darkness and usurped all their resources.

“Despite being a resource-rich country, Pakistan has been made to tow the line of IMF and World Bank,” said Haq.

The JI chief said that Pakistanis would have to rise up for their rights against tyranny like Hazrat Imam Hussain (RA) had done.
