PIMS doctors polish private practice, senators perturbed

Senate Standing Committee on Cabinet Division Friday expressed concern over the performance of Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS).

The meeting was chaired by Senator Kulsoom Parveen.

She said that doctors in the hospital are not serving the patients and are focusing on their private practice, adding that most of the machinery in the hospital is out of order.

She asked the Capital Administration and Development Division (CADD) to fill 91 vacant posts in PIMSHospital.

CADD additional secretary informed the meeting that a summary has been moved to the Prime Minister’s House for the approval of possession of land for extension of Poly Clinic.

He also informed the Cabinet Division that a summary has already been moved to the Public Service Commission to conduct examinations for the appointment of 91 doctors in the PIMS hospital.

The meeting was attended by Senators Syeda Iqbal, Rubina Khalid, Kamil Ali Agha, Najma Hameed and Humayoun Khan Mandokhel.
