A tribute to war veterans was paid by the students of Foundation University Rawalpindi on Monday.
Students of Media & Communications’ Department of semester 6, 7 and 8 organized this event as part of their academic project coached by Dr Shoaib Ahmed.
Eminent names were representing Pakistan Armed forces including 2nd Lady General of Pakistan Shahida Badshah, Lt Col Hafeez and Brig Akhter Nawaz Janjua. They all spoke their hearts out and left remarkable imprints on the minds and hearts of the youth.
Moreover, a tribute to families of martyred army men, who served their lives in honour of country, was also paid in form of dramatic art. They were later presented with shields. They shared few memories with the audience which stirred their emotions.
The main objective of the event was to introduce the eminent figures to the youth and to serve them as motivational and exemplary figures, spreading awareness among the youth of sacrifices their forefathers have made for the sake of future generations.
The event ended on a note of mixed feelings yet with high spirits and morale. “Sincerity of purpose and determination should be one’s utmost aim, only then can an individual succeed,” said General Shahida.
