19.8 kg hashish seized, counterfeit gold sellers arrested

The Islamabad Police have arrested six people for their alleged involvement in drug peddling, selling fake gold and having illegal weapons besides seizing 19.8 kilogrammes of hashish and weapons from them, a police spokesman said Tuesday.

Following the directions of Islamabad Inspector General of Police (IGP) Tahir Alam Khan, special checking was being conducted at entry as well as exit points of the city supervised by Islamabad SSP Asmat Ullah Junejo. During this vigilance, Bhara Kau Police team nabbed two drug pushers Shafiq Afridi and Shabir in possess ion of 19.8 kilogrammes of hashish.

Tarnol Police arrested an accused Abdul Rasheed for accommodating a proclaimed offender while Koral Police nabbed Tahir in possession of 12-bore repeater gun. Shalimar Police apprehended two women identified as Gulshan and Ayesha for selling fake gold ornaments. Cases have been registered against these nabbed persons and further investigation is underway from them.
