Pakistan Peoples’ Party (PPP) workers would not like Naheed Khan and Safdar Abbassi’s bid to form their own party in the name of Shaheed Benazir Bhutto, said PPP Punjab President Manzoor Ahmed Wattoo on Thursday that while talking to PPP office bearers and workers who gathered at the Party Secretariat in Model Town to observe third anniversary of Begum Nusrat Bhutto.

Wattoo paid rich tributes to Begum Nusrat Bhutto who provided leadership to the nation during the Movement for the Restoration of Democracy in the face of ferocious dictatorship of General Ziaul Haq.

The “Quran Khuwani” was also attended by Tanvir Ashraf Kaira, Afnan Butt, Mian Ayub, Mazoor Maneka and many PPP workers. Maulana Yousaf Awan led the prayers.

Wattoo further said that Chairman Bilawal Bhutto had started his political career by holding big rally in Karachi in which he expressed his firm resolve to serve the down trodden segments of the society including small farmer, harris, labourers, students, minorities, women and the youth.

While commenting on the misunderstanding between MQM and the PPP, he said that MQM should have not parted with the political alliance when Syed Khurshid Shah had already regretted his remarks as these were not ill-intentioned.

Wattoo also pointed out that the MQM derived the meaning out of context of the speech of the PPP chairman and their reaction was disproportionate indeed.
