The Lahore High Court Complaint Cell on Friday took notice of police inaction against culprits who kidnapped a girl from a village near Pindi Bhattian.

The complaint cell took the notice on an application filed by the girl’s mother and directed the Hafizabad district police officer (DPO) to submit a report within ten days.

Shagufta, resident of Pindi Bhattian, submitted that the accused Amjad Ali, Mamoor Khan, Muhammad Afzal and Noor Muhammad along with their accomplices kidnapped her daughter, Mehwish, from her home on August 18.

She submitted that the police registered a case on her complaint but did not take any action to recover the girl.

Later, the accused forcefully contracted marriage with her daughter who fled and reached home, she said. The applicant said the girl was produced before the Hafizabad district and sessions judge where she stated before the magistrate that the culprits forcefully kidnapped and molested her after so-called “Nikah”.
