Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan said Tuesday that Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif cannot condemn US drone strikes because his business interests lie in the West.

Speaking to the participants of PTI’s sit-in, Khan said, “Pakistan cannot gain respect in the international community until and unless we become self-reliant.”

“The rulers cannot dare to speak the truth nor can they stand in front of the public,” claimed Khan.

Condemning the US drone strikes, the PTI chief said that the drone attacks in tribal areas are detrimental to Pakistan armed forces’ action against the militants in the region.

Terming the drone attacks a violation of international laws, Khan said, “The government has completely failed to safeguard Pakistan’s sovereignty.”

“The corrupt rulers have weakened every state institution, including civil service – the strongest one inherited by us from the British rulers,” said the PTI chief.

Khan alleged that the governments of Pakistan People’s Party and Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz both worked on the policy of making the rich richer and the poor poorer.

He vowed to make Pakistan an Islamic welfare state and also condemned Indian aggression along the Line of Control (LoC).

  1. Look imran there is a limit to your nonsensical ranting! The drone attacks have been going on over ten years right from Musharraf to Nawaz. All the Govt.s have been covertly supporting them. These attacks help us to contain terrorisim. You are on the outside and criticising every thing under the sky. Container politics should some times have a constructive tone. First come to power through ballot and then create your "Naya Pakistan". At the moment you are showing a mirage but reality calls. Happy Eid.
