Eidul Azha celebrated in parts of KP, FATA, others to mark holiday today

People in some parts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa celebrated Eidul Azha on Sunday while most parts of Pakistan will mark the Eid of sacrifice today (Monday). Some tribesmen in FATA along with the Afghan refugees had celebrated Eid with Saudi Arabia on Saturday.

KP Chief Minister Pervaiz Khattak offered Eid prayers at his ancestral village in Nowshera, however, provincial governor Sardar Mahtab Ahmed Khan and other KP cabinet members from Hazara and Malakand will be observing it on Monday.

KP Information Minister Mushtaq Ghani justified the practice of celebrating two Eids in the province and said, “It has been practised in the past and are observed on the decree of Ulema.”

Responding on KP chief minister celebrating Eid a day before the nation, he said that the festival was being observed in the chief minister’s hometown and so he celebrated it with his natives.

Strict security measures were put in place for Eid prayers, which were offered in different mosques of the provincial capital Peshawar including other districts Charsadda, Nowshera, Mardan and Federally Administered Tribal Areas (FATA).

  2. The right day for Hujj as chosen by Allah was Saturday Oct. 4, 2014. Will Allah accept the assembly of Hujjaaj on a day not chosen by Him?
    Allah also chose Sunday to be the day of Eiduzzohah for all the faithfuls living from Australia to the Americas.
    The Moroccans are the only Arabic speaking people who obey Allah for what He shows in the sky as per the Shariah, hence celebrated Eid alongwith other faithfuls on Sunday.
    Sunday was the day fo Eid for all the Muslims in every continent fo the world. The Ulamah in this subcontinent need to wake up to the fact that they are in the age of fast communication so must be prepared to accept Shahadut from other countries located in the East, North, South and near West.
