ASWJ calls off sit-in in city

The Ahle Sunnat Wal Jamat has announced to call off its sit-in at Guru Mandar in Karachi after successful talks with the Sindh home secretary.

A four-member delegation of the ASWJ held successful talks with the home secretary on Wednesday. The provincial home ministry confirmed that a meeting was held in home ministry’s office and it was agreed in the meeting that the ASWJ and home ministry would hold another round of talks on Saturday and the demands of ASWJ would be deliberated upon in next meeting.

ASWJ leader Allama Aurangzeb Farooqui formally announced the decision of calling off the sit-in saying the next strategy would be devised after outcome of Friday meeting with the home ministry.
