Four killed, three injured in violence

As many as four people were killed and five others injured in separate firing incidents in the metropolis on Wednesday.

Two unknown men, allegedly criminals, were killed in police encounter while three police personnel were injured in retaliation by accused in Malir Halt area. The injured were rushed to a private hospital for treatment.

Moreover, the bodies were shifted to Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Center (JPMC) for medico-legal formalities.

In another incident, Wali Dad, 28, son of Wali Muhammad, was shot dead by two unidentified armed motorcyclists near Waris Hotel Chineser Goth. The body was shifted to JPMC for an autopsy. The motive behind the target killing is said to be an old enmity between the parties.

Yet in another incident, a private security guard, Sameer, 30, was shot injured, as he resisted bank robbery by unidentified armed men in Bahadurabad area. He was taken to Liaquat National Hospital (LNH) for treatment.

Separately, a police head constable, Zubair Afridi, son of Gulzar Afridi, sustained a bullet injury in an accidental firing during a raid against drugs addicts under Banaras Flyover. He was taken to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital (ASH) for treatment.

Meanwhile, the dead body of unknown person was found from Adil Farm House near Jamia Arabia. It was shifted to JPMC for medico-legal formalities. However, identification of deceased and details of the incident could not be ascertained.

Zohaib, 25, resident of Malir, was shot dead by unknown gunned man in Malir Goth. The body was shifted to JPMC for autopsy.
