The Lahore High Court (LHC) on Thursday sought replies of Punjab Law Minister Rana Mashhood and inspector general (IG) in a contempt of court petition against the arrest of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) workers.
The PTI had filed a contempt plea against the IG after arrest of its workers. The court took up the application for hearing today.
The petitioner, Zubair, pleaded the court that PTI workers were being indiscriminately arrested for no reason. The court was requested that a legal action be taken against the IG and law minister of the province as such actions by law enforcers were tantamount to contempt of court.
The court sought replies of the respondents and adjourned hearing till today.
